Johnsons Seeds is one of the most recognised brands in Australia. It has grown to be a leading manufacturer of a comprehensive range of the best vegetable and flower seeds available at Bunnings and independent garden centres nationwide. Johnsons Seeds provides variety and interest with unique sub-ranges catering to the traditional, modern and the more adventurous gardener.
Moving the brand forward, Johnsons Seeds required an upgrade to their online product catalogue with a modern look and feel that allowed customers to browse through their vegetable and flower seeds with ease. TWMG stepped up to the plate.
When Johnsons Seeds came to us they were in a bit of a dilemma with the digital offerings of their product catalogue website. Despite having a beautiful line of fresh produce imagery, the website was run on an outdated, clumsy template that robbed the product images of their beauty. We decided to adopt the clients' approach of letting the quality and vibrancy of the product do the work. We identified key problems when exploring the site –not only was the navigation old school, but there were poor structuring techniques and coding issues.
Focusing on the information architecture, we stripped back some of the elements on the site to showcase the fresh produce, by uploading high-end pictures and completely overhauling the layout. With the notion of simplifying, we designed a clean, structured interface and put in place clear navigation to ensure a journey which guides the audience to relevant content and items on the site.
The custom-built website enabled Johnsons Seeds customers to browse seeds from Australia's biggest seeds manufacturer – it clearly became the go-to source for the traditional, modern and adventurous gardener.
